Mass Mall Murderization With ‘Dead Rising 4’

  The Dead Rising series has a lot going for it. For one, it’s the brainchild of Keiji Inafune, the industry legend behind the dastardly-and-bastardly-difficult Mega Man series. All those impossibly-placed pits and spike traps that killed you over and over and made you swear like a mothereffer? That was this guy’s fault. It was totally him. So the dude knows great –if infuriating—game design.  

For another, Dead Rising is about scavenging random deadly items, sticking them together to make ridiculous weapons, and wanging a horde of zombies in the man-plums with them. If that’s not a winning video game concept, right there, I defy you to come up with a better one.

Recent releases have gotten a little carried away, seeing us mowing the moldy assholes down in cars and all sorts of things. Like Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Mania have proven, though, sometimes things are best when they’re kept pure. All we want is series protagonist Frank West (or one of the other dudes, I guess), a shopping mall, and the undead. Just give me that, and I’m a happy camper.

Well, good news, camping buddies. Dead Rising 4 hears us, and it’s got us covered.

The next instalment hits on December 6, and it’s looking like good ol' vintage Dead Rising through and through. Have yourself a merry little ogle at this new trailer and see for yourself.
