Jared Leto: Jackass of All Trades

You know the old saying, "he's a jack of all trades and a master of none"? I feel like that applies to Jared Leto except he has mastered one thing: building his own cult, fertilizing it, selling it, and then disavowing it after the fact. The guy is a world-class expert on Orwellian double speak, convincing you that he went deep into character on set and then calling rumors of such things, "total bullsh*t."

Leto's about to stink things up again in Blade Runner 2049, and while doing press for that film, he sought to set the record straight on rumors about his behavior on the set of Suicide Squad. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Leto wanted to clear up some of these stories about things he did such as sending used condoms, bullets, and dead animals to his co-stars. Thankfully EW burns him with an instant rebuttal of his account of the events...

Most of it was total bullsh–,” he says of reports he went above and beyond for the twisted villain. For example? “Like that I was giving used condoms to people, which was not true,” he says. “It doesn’t matter how loud you shout or hold up a sign with your pants off in Times Square — people will run the story that they want.” (Leto joked about the used condoms during a red carpet interview before the film’s release last year.)

He takes no responsibility for his actions and coldly disassociates from it like the total psychopathic nonsense that it was. Take this choice quote as another great example...

Was I focused when I was doing the scenes? Of course,” he adds. “Look you work the way you work, I’ll work the way I work. You can kiss my ass if you don’t like.

He once told a reporter for GQ that if the Joker were doing the interview instead of him he would, "definitely castrate you and make you eat your own testicles. Just for fun. That's if he liked you." It's hard to be shocking when you're just gonna act like it never happened a year later

What's the fun in that Jared? Don't run from your past, learn from it. Learn that certain behaviors earn you a certain reputation and that sooner or later, people won't put up with all this esoteric nonsense just to get a middling performance out of the bargain. He wasn't alone in building and hyping the mythology, but it all sprang from his machinations and the way he comported himself on set.

Jared, it's time to act like a grown up and stop hiding behind the extremes you have to go to in order to give a serviceable performance. I really wish they hadn't given you that Oscar, as it has only validated your obnoxiousness. Stop already, okay? No one wants to deal with this anymore.
