First off, if you're squeamish this might not be the kind of gallery you want to check out. If you can handle this kind of stuff, well then good for you I guess.
Sports are filled with terrible injuries, it's just the nature of the games that have contact. Legs bending the wrong way, ankles snapping...the list can just go on and on. And it does too, with things you would never have even considered, like NHL goalie Clint Malarchuk getting his jugular vein sliced open during a game.
So since South Korean weightlifter Jaehyouk Sa dislocated his elbow this week at the Olympics, we thought we'd unleash on you a a gallery of some of the sports world's most awesomely horrific injuries. They are in no particular order, though Joe Theismann's mangled leg is easily the number one most disgusting thing I've seen happen to an athlete's limb in my lifetime.
Again, this is not pretty. You've been warned.
