Fans of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia already know that the gang at Paddy's Pub are die-hard supporters of the Philadelphia Phillies. In fact, they were outside the stadium for game five of the 2008 World Series, drinking "Riot Punch" and cheering the team to victory. This was chronicled in an episode entitled "The World Series Defense."

One of the subplots of this episode involved Mac trying to get a fan letter to Phillies second baseman Chase Utley (watch the clip here) with the hope it would lead to a platonic friendship (nothing sexual) and maybe the two of them "having a catch." Five years later, Mac has finally received his reply, and while Chase doesn't have time to be friends or have a catch, he does give Mac some advice about being a good son.

It's Always Sunny's ninth season begins tonight.
