HTC One: Could This Be the iPhone Killer?

Apple's iPhone has had a very long and successful run. But ever since Steve Jobs' passing, things just haven't been the same. Gone were Apple's snazzy product launches and announcements, to be replaced by boring Tim's matter-of-fact introductions before he passes on the task of the actual product introduction to someone else.

So while there's a lot to complain about the lack of interesting updates to Apple iOS, Google's Android is a different story. I think Google really knew what they were doing when they decided to make their operating system open, because if they hadn't, then the HTC One wouldn't be as awesome as it is--and we'll get to the One in a moment.

The HTC One is the latest in a series of One's for the smartphone maker. This one, however, looks like it's the best one in the line so far. Built from solid aluminum, the One packs in some powerful hardware for something that looks so good and strikingly thin. The phone  runs on a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon chipset and comes with 2GB of RAM. Note the speaker grilles on the top and bottom of the phone, because while it's as sleek as it can be, it delivers amazing stereo sound via the dual front speakers.

The HTC One also comes with two cameras, and it's the first phone with a front-facing shooter that does not disappoint, as it can shoot 2.1-megapixel resolution images. The back camera with autofocus and LED flash can capture images at 4 megapixels. What sets the phone apart is the live app called HTC Blinkfeed, which features the user's favorite content right at the home screen.
