When it comes to critical acclaim and awards season glory, network television has taken a backseat to cable and streaming in the last few years, and though there are some reasons for NBC to be happy about this year's Emmy nominations, they are once again dominated by HBO and Netflix.

Many people thought that with Game of Thrones out of the running this year that HBO might have stumbled, but Westworld, Silicon Valley, and Veep picked up the slack. In fact, Westworld tied with SNL for the most nominations with 22, and HBO led the overall nomination total with a whopping 110 nominations. Netflix was close behind with 91 total nominations, with freshman series Stranger Things leading the pack with 18 nominations, a total it shares with FX's Feud. Other Netflix shows like House of Cards, Master of None, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt also landed nominations in several major categories including best series.

Hulu also had its first major breakthrough with The Handmaid's Tale landing in the Outstanding Drama Series category, a first for the streaming service, and Amazon's acclaimed Transparent was also a force to be reckoned with. Check out the full list of nominees in the major categories below and let us know which shows you're pulling for in the comments section below!
