As a rabid consumer of popular culture, I have had to weed things out of my life over time that no longer interest me. Sadly, The Walking Dead is one of those things that I just lost total interest in and kinda gave up on a long, long time ago, but I know that many of you are every bit as in love with the show now as you were when it first started nearly ten years ago.
In a little less than two weeks, on February 25, the series returns from hiatus to complete the 8th season, and it looks like the characters on the show are preparing for all-out war. Rick's forces are more depleted than they've been in some time, and now his son Carl has been bitten by a walker. Negan is similarly dealing with a power struggle within his own organization, leaving his ability to take control in doubt for the first time in a long time. Basically, everyone's at their lowest point, which is right where you want to be in terms of narrative structure this late in a series.
I don't see myself picking the show up again, but those of you who are still interested, get pumped because the return of The Walking Dead is only 13 days away!
