Prior to and after Floyd Mayweather's recent fight with Miguel Cotto, there seemed to be more interest in whether the so-called best pound-for-pound boxer in the world would ever fight the other guy that claims the same designation.

To make the long story short, Mayweather's answer to that question was no. He continued to claim that Manny Pacquiao uses some sort of performance enhancing drug, and that there is no way he Pacquiao could have plowed through the guys he did without using something.

While that leaves the sport of boxing desperately seeking a big, marquee fight, all may not be lost. If Mayweather is smart he should reconsider.

Pacquiao is a changed man; as far as his fighting goes we don't know if that is for the better yet. We'll have to wait till the Pac-Man faces off with Timothy Bradley on June 9th.

How has he changed? Manny used to be known as a party kind of guy, drinking, gambling, womanizing, cockfights—all sorts of craziness. Then the night of his fight with Juan ManuelMarquez his wife served him with divorce papers. He still pulled out the win that night, but it wasn't real pretty.

Since then Manny has given up all the craziness and dived in head first to some serious Bible study in order to help repair the relationship with his wife. He has gotten so into his studies that he felt the need to publicly criticize President Obama for his stance on gay-marriage.

In his comments Manny quoted the following verse from Leviticus 20:13 along with another Bible passage:

"If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."

"God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other."

So how does this affect Floyd Mayweather? When a man undergoes such a dramatic personality change it is bound to affect his personality. In a nutshell, he sounds like he might be losing his killer instinct and going soft. This will not matter much though if he still has Justin Bieber in his corner; talk about soft!

On the other hand, he could be punching with the clarity and focus that the Almighty can provide…
