First Look at Shane West as Bane on ‘Gotham’ is Hilariously Awful

It looks as though Krypton's Lobo won't be the only laughable live action rendition of a DC comics character coming to TV screens this fall. Gotham is coming in hot with this first look at Shane West as Bane, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, and it is hilariously awful...

That is seriously one of the worst looking things I've ever seen. I hate to give Gotham shit all the time, but they bring it on themselves. A Batman series without Batman can work, but it doesn't help when you botch a layup like this. Bane is easy, you hire Magnús Ver Magnússon, slap a mask on him, and boom, you're done.

This is ridiculous. This is worse than Batman and Robin's Bane, and that was horrendous. We went from Jeep Swenson up to Tom Hardy and back down to Shane West, whose last big role was in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which legitimately killed the careers of every single actor in the film. Come on Gotham, you guys can't be this hard up for ideas that you're willing to once again reinvent Bane as some sort of cybernetic killing machine.

At least Lobo looked like Lobo. This looks like a villain from some direct to video Terminator sequel nobody asked for or wanted. This is embarrassing.
