It's been 76 years since a Brit won the Wimbledon championship, but now they have their greatest ever chance to end this hoodoo after Andy Murray defeated Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in 4 sets to book his place in the final.

Murray is now the first British finalist since 1938, but in order for him to win the title he'll have to defeat Roger Federer after he beat Novak Djokovic in the day's earlier semi-final.

The Scot started the match in tremendous form breaking Tsonga at the first attempt before rushing into a 2 sets to love lead. However the powerful Frenchman soon found a way back into the match with a series of powerful serves and forehand strokes and with Murray looking a little complacent, Tsonga was able to take the third set.

Even in the fourth set, Tsonga seemed to dictate proceedings but Murray was able to hang on and broke his opponent in the final game to take the match 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.

Only Federer stands in his way now, but he'll be a pretty formidable barrier to break down.
