Lindsay Lohan Arrested for DUI and Cocaine Possession

We knew it was only a matter of time, but we really thought it would take a little more time until Lindsay Lohan was arrested for drunk driving and cocaine possession. And this comes just five days after Lindsay turned herself in for the DUI charge that kicked off her most recent rehab stint, reports CNN.

Five days after being booked in connection with a May drunken driving charge, actress Lindsay Lohan was arrested early Tuesday morning on five charges -- including drunken driving and possession of a controlled substance, Santa Monica police told CNN.

Police spokeswoman Calisse Lindsey said police got a call at 1:34 a.m. PT that a vehicle was chasing another vehicle in a parking lot in Santa Monica. When officers arrived, they found Lohan driving the vehicle that was chasing the other, the spokeswoman said.

The officers smelled alcohol and administered a field sobriety test, which Lohan failed, Lindsey said.

When taken to the police station, the 21-year-old actress registered 0.12 and 0.13 in blood tests for alcohol levels, the spokeswoman said. In California, the legal limit is 0.08, according to the state's Department of Motor Vehicles.

Officers also found a white powdery substance in Lohan's possession which was determined to be cocaine, Lindsey said.

Lohan was charged with two counts of driving under the influence, possession of cocaine, bringing a controlled substance into a jail facility, and driving on a suspended license, according to Lindsey.

She was released on $25,000 bail Tuesday morning, according to The Associated Press.

Lohan's attorney, Blair Berk, issued the following statement Tuesday, which was run on TMZ.com: "Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. Since Lindsay transitioned to outpatient care, she has been monitored on a SCRAM bracelet and tested daily in order to support her sobriety. Throughout this period, I have received timely and accurate reports from the testing companies. Unfortunately, late yesterday I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care."

TMZ is having a field day with this one, updating every minute, and they are currently reporting that Lindsay is back in rehab, although at an undisclosed location.

Now, not to be completely insensitive to what Lindsay is going through, but did we not say we told you so? As a matter of fact, we even called it on the crazy car chase (although we didn't think Lindsay would be the one doing the chasing). Still, predicting that Lindsay Lohan would go back to using drugs and alcohol is like predicting that the sun will rise. It's just going to happen. Cocaine possession is pretty serious.... Prison?
