E3 2015: Man, ‘Doom 4’ is Looking Violent

Brace yourselves, gentlemen. I don't know how to break this to you, but... Doom 4 is going to be pretty freaking violent. Back in the day, my dear ol' ma wouldn't even allow a copy of The Exorcist in the house, but Doom 4? She'd probably refuse to live in the same State as a store that sells it come release.

Since the controversial original, Doom has always reveled in the goretastic. That's the way it was, is and always must be. But we've never seen it quite like this before.

Bethesda have been super secretive with the upcoming game, but now it's E3 season. The time when games developers everywhere stand over that air vent like Marilyn Monroe and give us an ogle at everything they have to offer. Or something. And what does Doom 4 have to offer? A jaw-rippin', heart-punchin' good time you've never seen outside of Mortal Kombat, that's what.

This, right here, is some gameplay footage from the demo build of the game, and damn has our anonymous marine buddy learned some new moves. The first thing you'll notice is that the game's looking pretty freaking sexy. The second thing? Those spangly new melee moves are brutal.
