Disney's upcoming streaming platform, Disney Play, is promising some pretty amazing content on the horizon involving the MCU.

A new article in Variety details a forthcoming plan to bring popular MCU characters like Loki and Scarlet Witch to Disney Play via 6-8 episode miniseries. The best part is that it specifically mentions actors Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen will be reprising their big screen roles in the series, and MCU guru Kevin Feige will oversee their creation.

They're careful to say that the big players like Iron Man, Cap, and Thor are going to stay exclusively in the MCU's big screen affairs, though who knows if one or more of them will swoop into the shows. It's kind of hard to imagine a Loki series with absolutely no Thor involved.

Don't think, however, that these won't be big budget affairs just because they're exclusive to a streaming platform. Disney's looking to throw some money into this endeavor...

...though sources close to the production are staying mum on the cost of the programming, the budgets are expected to be hefty rivaling those of a major studio productions.

Predictably, Disney had no comment on any of this, but with Jon Favreau's Star Wars series and a live action Lady and the Tramp planned as Disney Play exclusives, it's clear that they're putting some time and money into this endeavor.

Disney Play launches some time in the second half of 2019.
