Remember that scene in The Avengers, when Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk jumped out of the S.H.I.E.L.D. hellicarrier and ended up smashing into a huge building down below? He emerged as a very exposed and confused Bruce Banner amid the rubble that the Hulk's massiveness caused.

You might recall seeing Harry Dean Stanton standing over him then, dressed as a security guard who didn't seem to be very surprised as seeing him or the mess that he had created. Instead, he asked Bruce matter-of-factly if he needed any clothes. (Obviously, he did.) And that was that, at least in the movie.

It appears that was part of a much longer scene where Stanton questions Bruce Banner about the Hulk and its existence. EW has just debuted the clip of the extended scene online and it's interesting, to say the least. It also provides some insight into who (or what) the Hulk really is.

Stanton tries to push Bruce in the right direction, and asks the question that nobody probably knows the answer to:

Are you a big guy that gets all little, or a little guy that sometimes blows up large?

Check out the deleted scene in the player above to see how Bruce Banner responded to that and more. Enjoy!
