‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Is Like ‘Mad Max’ with Monkeys

The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes trailer seems a lot like Mad Max with monkeys. Then again, given the presence of a super virus, maybe 12 Monkeys would be a better comparison. Either way, if you're a fan of post-apocalyptic sci-fi and apes, you're probably going to enjoy this film.



Ten years after the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, disease and war has brought humanity to the brink. And as if armed conflict and pestilence weren't bad enough, a new race of genetically-modified chimps lead by Caesar has its own plans for world dominance. Who will reign supreme in the ultimate battle between ape and man? I have no idea, but given the need for a sequal, I'm guessing this film goes to the apes.



Andy Serkis, Judy Greer, Terry Notary and Karin Konoval all star as apes, while Gary Oldman and Jason Clarke round out the human cast. The film hits theaters on July 11th, 2014.
