Chicago News Station Thinks Winter Olympics At P.F. Chang’s

As a Chicagoan I disagree with media coverage that portrays us as Mad Max, but I absolutely agree with any coverage that portrays us as people who think about food 24/7. This Saturday our local ABC station accidentally identified the most popular chain restaurant for poor people celebrating, P.F. Chang's, as the location for the 2018 Winter Olympics, which are actually taking place in PyeongChang, South Korea. While the mistake was obviously because the programmers all had food on the brain, as we all do here (as Dick Wolf stated, Chicago "is a cleaner, politer New York with slightly heavier people") the incident is being chalked up to a graphics mix-up with a completely separate "satirical piece." Hopefully this explains why the graphic also only has four Onion rings. I mean Olympic rings. See what I mean.

To be honest, I'm kind of surprised that this mix-up, which quickly went as viral as things from Chicago can go, didn't garner a Hello Giggles "Top Ten Reasons Chicago's ABC Station Is Racist" post, but maybe I can hold out hope for when this satirical piece debuts later this week. People tend to not like when the media conflates similar nationalities, and P.F. Chang's China Bistro serves Chinese food, while for Korean food you'll need to head to the pound. Well, as you can tell the winter games have really captured the hearts and imaginations of people across the globe. This is what it's all about. Bringing us together over Midwestern assholes. Anyway I have to go and eat an entire cake.
