Charlize Theron Goes Bald for ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ (VIDEO)

Charlize Theron has been extremely busy these past couple of months. Fresh off from playing the gorgeous evil queen who's hell bent on kicking Kristen Stewart's ass in Snow White and the Hunstman, Charlize also terrorized her companions aboard Weyland's massive spacecraft in Prometheus.

And she's not showing any signs of slowing down. Charlize was spotted minus her beautiful golden locks as she stepped out with her son Jackson in Beverly Hills. But hair or no hair, she looks as gorgeous as ever, although she does try to hide her new 'do by sporting a fedora.

But why did Charlize decide to shave it all off? Well, it's not some kind of existential life crisis, in case you were wondering. In fact, it's actually for her role in the up-and-coming Mad Max: Fury Road, which begins filming in South Africa next month.

So how does she feel about finally getting to take on the role?

It's been three years. It's time to skin this cat already. I feel like the original Mad Max created such a vivid world, that to go back and re-imagine it and kind of replay in that sandbox sounds like fun to me. George really created a female character that I've never read anything like this.
