Catch a Very Short Glimpse of a Very Large Monster in the ‘Godzilla’ Teaser Trailer

In the new teaser trailer for Godzilla, you don't see much of the legendary reptilian movie monster. But when you do see him, he looks pretty pissed, as well he should. I mean, that's his job, right? It's what monsters do.



On the flip side, most of Godzilla's human costars look pretty horrified, including Bryan Cranston, who looks downright forlorn in his brief appearance. Again, no surprises there. How would you look if Godzilla was rampaging through your city?



But what is surprising is how dark and intense the film looks. Maybe I'm too used to the classic Japanese versions, or perhaps the awful 1998 remake soured me on the franchise, but I wasn't expecting much from this latest attempt. Granted, it's just the teaser trailer, so there's no telling how it will all pan out, but here's hoping director Gareth Edwards has knocked it out of the park.
