Cameron Diaz is finally done pretending to be the woman she once was. Her heyday was at the turn of the century. Anything she starred in after 2010 was barely worth watching. Bad Teacher was obviously a big name money grab and Sex Tape was somewhat funny but far from her best work. She had a great run and overstayed her welcome. Most women are put out to pasture way before flirting with the age of fifty. Diaz is officially coming out as done with acting before she starts hearing more of the “don’t call us we’ll call you” at auditions.
Cameron Diaz has confirmed that she is "actually retired." The 45-year-old star has taken a step back from the spotlight in recent years, sparking speculation that she retired from acting. Diaz's Sweetest Thing co-star Selma Blair added fuel to the retirement rumors earlier this month when she spoke about her pal getting out of the acting game. During a Sweetest Thing reunion interview with Diaz, Blair and Christina Applegate, published Thursday, Diaz admitted she's retired.
With Cameron gone the list of talented women in Hollywood continues to dwindle. The cinema business is on it’s last legs if actresses like Jennifer Lawrence are the crème de la crème by default and the only blonde without gravity abused boobs left to cast. I wonder what Diaz will do with all of her extra time? She should probably start a podcast or pick up knitting before she goes completely insane. It's sad when the only roles they offer old women are witches. But at least Cameron is keeping her dignity avoiding the crumbs being thrown her way at her tender age like Angelina Jolie in Maleficent.
