The women are doing their best to dismantle the patriarchy. And it looks like we have moles among us, Benedict Cumberbatch being one of them. Dr. Strange was giving out strange advice to men. His argument was that men should not accept roles if the women also playing in the film aren’t receiving equal pay. Typical White Knight stirring up the pot once again. Yes, I will admit there are instances where women get shafted on a deal but there are factors, no matter if you’re an actor or actress, that lead to being taken advantage of by Hollywood. Factors like how good is your agent and how many more seats will you be filling if your name is attached to a movie. Let's stop pretending like Hollywood's only focus isn't about making money and maybe we can make some ground on the equal pay issue.

Benedict "betray all men" Cumberbatch:

“Look at your quotas. Ask what women are being paid, and say: ‘If she’s not paid the same as the men, I’m not doing it.’

I can guarantee that Jennifer Lawerence makes more than a lot of males in the same industry. Even some that she’s starred right next to. She can easily command more than her once co-star Josh Hutcherson just from her name alone now. Chris Pratt is only getting $2 million more dollars than his co-star Bryce Dallas Howard for their next dino movie and he’s a way bigger name than her. The CGI Tyrannosaurus Rex arguably attracts more individuals to see Jurassic World 2 than her, where’s that things equal pay? Honestly you can replace Bryce with Lindsay Lohan and the movie wouldn’t miss a beat. I hope Cumberbatch personally makes up for every case of unequal pay he sees from now on out of his own pocket or his selective outrage over this issue will be deemed officially invalid.
