You don't have to drive over to the nearest grocery store or wait on your porch for the ice cream truck to make its rounds. All you need is your smartphone and the Uber Ice Cream app and you're good to go. Uber operates an on-demand car service but for one day only, they're letting folks order ice cream with the tap of their screens!

Just download the Uber app and hit the 'Ice Cream' option instead of the 'Request a Ride' button and just wait for your ice cream to get delivered.

The service is only available in select US cities and various global locations. I think Uber is definitely on to something here; hopefully some other people will swoop in, take this idea, and turn it into something bigger, better, and more permanent.
