Travis ShumanWebsite

Travis is one of Egotastic's 'gaming' writers. He's a born and raised Canadian but doesn't live in an igloo and has, believe it or not, never ridden a polar bear or met an Eskimo. I know, crazy...right? Travis has a strong passion for both video games and writing as well as the wonderful world of comic books. He has even given his arm, and several days worth of pain, for Marvel Comics with a superhero sleeve. Travis is known for liking those who 'Like' his Facebook page and disliking those who frown upon his colorful arm.

Rockstar Celebrates 10th Anniversary With Grand Theft Auto: Vice City iSO and Android Ports

When most gamers think back on the era of the Playstation 2, a lot of games come to mind. Opinions differ on which games really reigned supreme at the time but none can deny the power of the Grand Theft Auto series. GTA was able to push the boundaries in every way possible; becoming a nightmare for parents around the world. As it turns out, GTA would be a the foundation for a new level of violence and other such adult themes in the video game industry. They didn't turn us into killers or car thieves either...so that's good.

Cold Coffee: Video Game Movies

It’s in our nature to always want more. Whether it’s money or food or women; we’re just never happy and desire more. It’s the same message every alien invader from any sci-fi movie has taunted humanity with. For this reason, it’s no surprise when companies attempt to capitalize on a working product by expanding it into other territories; territories where they really shouldn’t be. Read More » »

Chronovolt Will Have PS VITA Players Making Strange Gestures On the Bus

Portable gaming is either something that gamers love or hate. Personally I find it hard to get into a comfortable state where I can engulf myself in a game without having to worry about missing my stop or walking into a tree...both of which have actually happened. Video game developer PlayerThree are giving those who fancy themselves portable players something new and exciting to look forward to.

Bullet Witch’s Alicia and the Top 7 Hottest Other-Haired Women in Gaming

This is it guys...the last week of what has most likely been your most enjoyable Top 7 lists since we started. In the battle of the hair colors we've seen some of the hottest women the video game industry has to offer. Our first week featured the blondes, week two introduced the wonderful world of brunettes, and the third week introduced the fiery redheads and all their gingerly glory; all bases have been covered...right?

Oh no, my friends...we're not done yet. In the real world, we'd probably close up shop now but this is the wacky world of video games, where anything is possible. Having blue or purple hair is nothing crazy for video game characters and we're going to give the 'other' women a shot at glory. I warn you now, it's about to get crazy in here.

Kat and Emmett Join Playstation All-Stars in First DLC

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, which I'll be calling PASBR from here on out, hasn't even hit store shelves yet and it's already making a huge splash in the gaming community. With Super Smash Bros. quickly fading into obscurity, now is the time for a new franchise to take over the platform-wide tournament seat. PASBR has already gone gold on both Playstation 3 and Playstation VITA but why stop a good thing?

Purge Looks to Feed the Need of Mirror’s Edge Fans

Remember Mirror's Edge? While the game itself ended up making a pretty mediocre splash in the video game industry, the idea behind the game was really unique and open players' eyes a bit to the possibilities of having a game not be able shooting soldiers in a war. With Mirror's Edge, players were cast into the role of a messenger named Faith, who's tasked with getting across a city through a dangerous course of enemies and obstacles utilizing nothing more than the sweet ass moves of parkour.

Cold Coffee: Lack of Innovation

Back in the day, the video game industry wasn't as crazily complex as it is now. Yes, believe it or not, there was a time when games just came out. It didn't matter if they sucked and it didn't matter what the overall idea of it was. All we cared about was how cool the box art was. The job of a game developer wasn't so tainted back then either. Game developers used to just make something they thought was cool and that would be it. This is because there wasn't a billion companies all racing to get a piece of what would become a much larger industry than anyone had suspected. Read More » »
