Athletes Do the Dumbest Things: the Inaugural Edition

Most people reading this are probably too young to remember the old television show, but comedian, sweater aficionado, and pudding salesman extraordinaire Bill Cosby used to have a program called Kids Say the Darnedest Things. The basic premise of the show was pretty simple. Cosby would ask a kid between the age of 3 and 8 a question, and the kid would respond with something cute.

Don't laugh. The show started as a one night special and ended up staying on the air for 2 1/2 years! Those kids were just so darn cute...

Kids can be cute, but for a real laugh you need to look no further than your favorite athletes. For some crazy reason, many of the best athletes in the world tend to do some of the dumbest things. What they do is not always too different than the kids on Cosby's show, but since they're adults and make millions for playing a game they aren't cute--just dumb.

If there is one thing that we as fans like to do more than cheer on our favorite athlete, it's laugh when the fool screws up and gets caught. So from time to time we'll highlight an athlete(s) here after they do something that not even their mothers could be proud of.

Over the last few weeks there have been a number of worthy candidates to kick this feature off with. Jason Kidd getting toasted in the Big Apple and busting up his ride; Marshawn Lynch getting busted driving drunk in Oak-town; Elvis Dumervil road raging in Miami; Dion Lewis pulling fire alarms; Adrian Peterson wrestling cops; Terrell Owens being Terrell Owens; the list could go on and on.

There is one man that stands out above the rest when it comes to being so dumb we can't help but laugh. No, it's not Dez Bryant for trying to kill his momma by hitting her with a hat and pulling her hair. It's Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams.

You may not know his name because guys like Dumervil and Von Miller get a lot of the attention on defense in the Mile High City. He had a pretty solid season last year with 90 tackles, five sacks, and three forced fumbles.  He might have a hard time matching those numbers after the league is done with him.

It is not unusual for athletes to take PEDs or other drugs. What exactly Williams may have taken we don't know yet; what we do know is that his pee was not his own. Test done on the urine samples he provided for drug test last August and September showed not that he was taking anything, but that his urine was not human.

I would seriously doubt it was animal urine; he can't be that stupid. Chances are it was synthetic. If that wasn't enough, when he took a third test in November he was seen dropping the bottle from his waist.

If you think that was funny, his lawyer is accusing the NFL of rushing to judgement!
