You’re Invited to a Non-Denominational Winter Celebration in LEGO Movie Short Film ‘Emmet’s Holiday Party’ (VIDEO)

I don't know about you guys, but after five years, I'm ready to go back to the world of The LEGO Movie at long last. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed LEGO Batman and found LEGO Ninjago slightly amusing, but this new short film "Emmet's Holiday Party" really makes me anxious to see The LEGO Movie 2 in February.

It's two and a half minutes long, so it doesn't really have time to overstay its welcome. Plus these characters are great and the more time we spend in their company, the better. I'm still not sure about these new characters that show up at the end and are positioning themselves as the villains of the sequel, but I'm sure that by the end of that movie, we'll all feel differently. Hopefully.

As an AFOL, I'm also intrigued by a lot of the new pieces introduced in this short, such as Emmet's dual molded beanie and hair piece, Alfred's anchor tattoo arm, and of course, Holiday Sweater Batman, regardless of the lack of additional abs.

All three LEGO Movies are available on home video formats and Digital HD, and The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part hits theaters on February 8, 2019, a mere nine weeks from now.
