Man, Am I Glad This Terrifying 'Grand Theft Auto V' VR Mockup Isn't Real (VIDEO)

VR gaming is still in that early, who-the-hell-really-knows-yet stage. The spangly new tech has its share of fans, mostly the early adopters and tech whores of the world, but it’s a tough sell for the general gamers among us.

The issue is that Oculus Rift and HTC Vive just haven’t showcased that killer app yet, that title that proves the whole VR revolution is worth getting on board with. At the moment, a lot of us are sitting at the station a little confused as the Hype Train speeds by. Or not wanting to get on when it stops, because it’s packed and we’d be stuck standing next to that guy who smells of piss.

Metaphors aside, maybe PlayStation VR will help to bridge that gap for existing console players who are on the fence. As for me, I’m happy to hold out a little longer on the whole thing. Until this awesome Grand Theft Auto V VR mock-up becomes reality, at least. At which point, I’m going to jump on PlayStation VR like a randy nymphomaniac.

As everyone who’s played Rockstar’s latest opus will know, player character Trevor Philips is one terrifyingly demented asshole. Probably the most unhinged protagonist games have ever seen, and not the sort of guy you’d want to be trapped in a Matrix-style VR Los Santos with.

Still, as this bit from Corridor Digital shows, that’d sure be an experience. Check it out (and yep, that’s Steven Ogg, the Trevor actor himself).
