Lewis Hamilton, Formula One Champ and 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' Poser

null  When you’re Call of Duty’s PR & Marketingtastic Department, it’s safe to say that you’ve got a fair amount of money at your disposal. Dollar dollar bills y’all, as Wyclef Jean once said. When it comes to ads, trailers and endorsements and such, these guys don’t skimp.

You can’t hype gamers up by showcasing footage of gameplay of the upcoming title in question. Who has time for that shit? Nobody, that’s who. That’s loser talk. Nuts to gameplay, it’s all about gratuitously shoehorning in celebrities.

Remember Codnapped, the live action trailer that saw Stephen Graham (Boardwalk Empire) hawking Call of Duty: Ghosts? That’s just the tip of the Hollywoodtacular iceberg. Over the years, everyone from Eminem to Snoop D-O-double-G has spread the Call of Duty message to us mere mortals.

Who’s next to join the ranks of famous COD fans making famous COD cameos famously? F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. As soon as Activision’s check cleared, Kotaku reports, he dropped the following statement:

“I’ve been a Call of Duty fan for long time, so it’s an absolute honour to be part of this game and the franchise. The experience of being put into the game – from the facial scanning process to working with the team on the performance capture stage and just being able to meet the developers at the studio to get a glimpse at all the hard work that goes into the game – this has been an incredible experience.”

And with that, there was our ol’ buddy Lewis in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in a shit hat. We don’t know what role his character will have just yet, but there it is. Clearly, the power of Activision knows no bounds.
