Of course, all the new console impending excitement is reserved for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One just now. Microsoft and Sony are, as we speak, deeply entrenched in a battle of wits; mostly involving sending each other JPEGs of themselves giving the finger and/or crudely photoshopped incriminating images of their counterparts performing unnatural acts with horses.
Except this is not even slightly true.
The next generation, in short, is causing quite the media shitstorm. But in the midst of it, spare a thought for the humble Ouya. This little oddity began life as a Kickstarter project, a highly moddable Android haven for big-screen indie games. The campaign raised $8.5 million, and contributors received their consoles at the end of March. Now, June 25 marks its release for the rest of us (those of us with any spare shits laying around to give, that is).
What awaits us? A whole lot of budget (the Ouya is priced at $99) wonderment, that's what. How long have we waited for a chance to punch fatass pig-men in the face, dick around with the very laws of gravity, propel what appears to be a big ol' turd through a series of befuddling pathways and kick a disco-bear with an afro in the wang? Far too long. As you'll see in IGN's game compilation trailer above, Ouya will make it happen.
