A good opening title sequence will set the tone for the film and provide some sort of set-up, either into the plot of the movie or into the mindset of the characters. A great title sequence (like Lord of War, featured above) will do all of that and match it with a perfect song to become unforgettable.
So with that in mind, we’ve collected some of our favorite opening credits that we just can’t seem to get enough of. And while most will probably be obvious choices, we tried to throw a few surprises in there, as well. So check it out and let us know what we missed.

It’s cheesy, it’s stupid, but so darn catchy.
Easily the best opening credits nobody has seen. Seriously.
It’s simple, but it sets the tone for the movie so well.
Regardless of your feelings towards the film, everybody agrees that Zack Snyder did a great job setting up the story with these credits.
