There’s No Found Footage to Be Found in ‘The Last Exorcism Part II’ Trailer (VIDEO)

Here We Go Again...Again

Not that I'm comparing The Last Exorcism to The Blair Witch Project, but if there's any lesson to be taken from that movie it's that when the sequel invariably arrives to your successful found footage horror film, you don't suddenly decide to shoot it as a typical, normal movie. The only reason people tuned in to see the first Last Exorcism was the purported documentary of a possessed girl. So shedding that entire style for the next Last Exorcism seems a strange and bizarre gamble. But hey, if there's one thing that freaks me out, it's a body suddenly and violently contorting to different back-breaking positions so I don't know, maybe I'll just buy a copy from a street vendor in Chinatown the week it opens like everyone else.

Continuing where the first film left off, Nell Sweetzer is found alone and terrified in the woods. Back in the relative safety of civilization, Nell realizes that she can't remember entire portions of the previous months only that she is the last surviving member of her family. Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean her last exorcism was just the beginning.

The Last Exorcism Part II opens March 1st.
