If you find yourself nominated in the same category as Adele, then I think it's only sensible to let yourself down gently by accepting the fact that you're probably going to lose. We're not encouraging anyone to assume a defeatist attitude, but it is Adele we're talking about, for crying out loud.
Every nominee should also be prepared to lose, that much is true--but not Taylor Swift. No, Taytay probably wanted to continue her winning streak after winning Best Country Artists at the People's Choice Award last week. Unfortunately (and pretty obviously), that didn't happen, since Adele's song for Skyfall bested Taytay's song for The Hunger Games soundtrack for the Best Song Golden Globe.
So when Adele gave her cute speech and said that the win was extremely unexpected, the camera cues back to Taylor just in time to catch her make a prissy "whatever, b*tch" face. Play the video above at the 2:00 mark and see for yourself.
It's safe to say that Adele's win was well-deserved. She's got a set of pipes that few, if any, can match in the industry, and she doesn't sing songs about each and every failed relationship she has had (although most of the songs in her first album were about one breakup.)
We're not hating on Taytay, but we're not fans of her poor attitude either. You can't win 'em all, Taylor, and you certainly won't be winning any more fans by being a sourpuss.
We do know someone else at the awards show who was feeling giddy the whole night, even if she didn't win anything, and that's Glenn Close. You can take one look at her drunken jig and know, just know, that she must be wasted.
Quentin Tarantino's win was also well-deserved and clearly, he didn't expect it either. Otherwise, he wouldn't have done a double-take-and-spit-drink-out combo when his name was announced, would he?
The last GIF for the day is none other than the bad ass of all mother-effin bad asses, Tommy Lee Jones. Here he is with his face all stony and not laughing while Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig did their little improv thing onstage:
It goes without saying: Tommy Lee is not amused.
