If you didn't get enough Company of Heroes 2 yesterday, you'll be thrilled with today's multiplayer trailer reveal. I'll keep saying it until you absorb it: real-time-strategy games are really glorified chess games with specialized pieces and long/short term strategies at work. In Company of Heroes you have to learn the speed, power and durability of your tanks, halftracks, infantry units, etc very well so you can be an effective commander. Unlike chess, this fight is in real time. Your guys and their guys will be covering ground and getting in position as you watch and you're always in control of all of your guys at the same time. That's the challenge here.
In Company of Heroes 2 you take all of that unit management (to say nothing of resource management --these tanks aren't free and they don't build themselves) and throw it into the Eastern Front struggle between the Red Army and the Nazis with authentic units and conditions. The cold weather will freeze your soldiers and blizzards will hamper your vision. Lots of stuff to deal with in CoH2 before you even get to dealing with enemy tanks firing at you. In the multiplayer clip above you'll see exactly what we mean.
