Bioshock Infinite Delayed…Again

According to Creative Director Ken Levine, Bioshock: Infinite has been delayed yet again.

Levine made the statement recently at a Bioshock Infinite event claiming, in the nicest way possible, that it was actually Epic’s former Direction Manage, Rod Fergusson, who was to blame for the delay.

When Rod [Fergusson, Epic's former Production Director] came on the project a couple of months ago – and this dude is living in a hotel nearby because he really wanted to work on Infinite – he really fell in love with the game. But he said, ‘look, Ken, I really think the game would benefit from three or four more weeks’

Levine went on to assure fans that the delay would be minor and that it’s for all the right reasons claiming that ‘at the end of the day, we’ve got to ship a great game. So if it’s three or four more weeks, then it’s three or four more weeks.’ Bioshock Infinite is now set to release on March 26, 2013; a month behind it’s previous release date of February 26, 2013.

Bioshock Infinite has played the unfortunate host to a variety of delays, the most notable being its previous delay that pushed the released from October to February…which is now March.

Overall, the delay is minor and Bioshock Infinite is in no way looking to become the next Duke Nukem: Forever. A four week delay is more than welcome in my book as long as the team is using the time to give us a better quality game in the long run. Everyone should know by now how much I hate unfinished games…
