David Wilson Hall of Fame Watch - Week Nine

New York Giants rookie running back David Wilson proclaimed he would be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame once his career was all said and done, so we're continuing to track his progress. Since he made the comment, Wilson hasn't really put up the kind of numbers that would lead to his induction, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.

In the Giants' week nine home loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wilson registered zero carries for zero yards. That brings (keeps) his season totals to 17 carries for 88 yards, with a long run of 40 yards, which went for his only touchdown. As far as catching the ball out of the backfield, Wilson has one grab for three yards and no TDs.

Wilson is continuing to return kickoffs, and Sunday he had four with an average of 25 yards per return with a long of 32. That's the role he's been given for now and he's excelling there. On the year, Wilson is second in the NFL in kick return yardage, having racked up 832 yards on 31 attempts. His average of 26.8 is good enough for 15th on the list.

Canton probability after week nine - Low.
