Team USA Grabs Gold; Beats Spain 107 – 100
Team USA fought their way to a second consecutive Olympic Gold Medal in basketball, beating Spain just as they did in the 2008 Games. This time around the final was 107-100.
Kevin Durant's 30 led the USA, while Pau Gasol was sensational for Spain with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Spain kept it close throughout, with the U.S. finally pulling ahead by 11 late in the fourth quarter, only to let Spain close it back to 6 with about 13 seconds left before winning by 7.
The U.S. team has now won 50 straight international games.
