Life In the Real World Can Be Harsh After ‘The Real World’

TMZ is reporting that Real World: Hollywood cast-member Joey Kovar has been found dead in Chicago of an apparent drug overdose. The troubled star of Season 20 famously left the show mid-way through its run in order to appear on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew instead in a bid to finally get clean from his years-long drug abuse problem.

First premiering on MTV in 1992, The Real World was one of the first reality shows to strike a chord with audiences. And Kovar isn’t the first alumni of the decades-long running reality series to succumb to tragedy or problems following their stint in the house. Many alumni have had their run ins with the law or even much, much worse.
