That $60 Million High School Football Stadium Will Have a Sellout For Its Opener
We told you about Allen High School in Texas, where they built a $60 million stadium for their football team, and with the first game about to kickoff in a couple of days, it's looking like a solid plan. Fans were lined up yesterday to grab tickets to Friday's opening game, and that picture was tweeted by the Southlake Independent School District.
Sure, some of the excitement is probably to see what the stadium is like, and maybe the expected 20,000 fans are interested in being a part of history. But don't be fooled, high school football in Texas is nearly as big as the Cowboys and Longhorns. Still, this is pretty insane.
Fans lining up further than the eye can see four days before a high school football game is, I'm guessing, pretty unheard of. If it remains that way throughout the season, then it might be hard to argue that the investment wasn't worth it.
