A fight is coming my friends...
The virtual boxing ring will soon have all four corners filled as Ouya continues to grow stronger with each passing week. Once an unknown new console, Ouya is beginning to see some real support from some pretty big names.
Square Enix is the latest to rally behind the Android console, promising their RPG classic 'Final Fantasy III' will be a playable game for Ouya at launch. Sqaure Enix has also stated that Final Fantasy III will be 'fully optimized' for the new platform.
I know what you're thinking at this point and, while technically Square Enix has been whoring the shit out of Final Fantasy III with different ports on every system you can think of, there's more to their support than just that. They have also promised more content in the future, marking Square Enix as the first major third-party developer to support Ouya, that started as a simple Kickstarter campaign.
Speaking of which, said campaign is still on for another week on Kickstarter.com, where the up and comer has raised a staggering $5.8 million...far beyond their $950,000 goal.
After Ouya acquired a partnership with Cloud gaming service 'OnLive' last week, netting the console hundreds of games from over 80 publishers on demand at launch, it looks like this underdog could really be the next big thing in the video game community.
Fight night is approaching, my friends. It's like a real life Rocky Balboa for the video game community...
