Carolina Panther Center Ryan Kalil Says They Will Win the Super Bowl in Newspaper Ad
Everybody freaks out when an athlete guarantees a win or a title. But when it happens, it's usually it's a star player, or maybe a coach like Pat Riley with the Lakers in the 80s guaranteeing a championship repeat.
You don't usually see a center from a 6-10 NFL team guaranteeing a Super Bowl, but now we have. Pro Bowl center Ryan Kalil took out a full page ad in the Charlotte Observer saying that the Lombardi Trophy will be engraved with 'Carolina Panthers' come next February.
I really have no problem with this. The NFL is crazy like that where anything can happen, and besides don't fans want their teams to have confidence? It doesn't hurt that they have a stud at QB in Cam Newton and have been filling the holes they had in their roster. So good for you, Ryan Kalil, way to make sure everyone in the league will do everything they can to prove you wrong.
