Rugby Players Want to Win at all Costs
Lots of sports like to think they are tough. Lots of athletes think they have the never say die, win at all costs, no one is going to get me kind of attitude. They say they love the game, they love the fans, and they will do whatever it takes to gain a competitive advantage.
When it comes down to it though, will they really do anything? By anything I mean absolutely anything in order to win? For a rugby player in Australia (Avondale) the answer was an easy yes. How did he prove it?
After you say 'eww!' 'yuck!' and 'gross!' and stop and think about it you'll realize the genius behind the move. Do you want to tackle someone that is covered in urine? I think not!
Besides being creative and using what tools God gave him, I have to applaud his efforts over those of guys that take performance enhancing drugs or attempt to injure players to gain a competitive advantage. Any wanna-be can take drugs and get better. Injuring opponents requires no skill either.
Anyone can throw a cheap shot or shoot up, but urinating on oneself? That takes real stones!
The Illawarra District Rugby Union is investigating this incident, but I can't imagine them getting anywhere with it. If the player in question was cunning enough to pee in his pants prior to kickoff I'd be willing to bet that he's washed his shorts by now too. Without them it would be pretty hard to substantiate the allegation.
Then again, they've convicted off a lot less in the NFL...
