Can Terrell Owens Get Back in the Game?
There is no greater train wreck than former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens. The man has been everything any football player would ever want to be on the field, but has been everything that they don't want to be anywhere else.
From his issues with the media (basically him talking too much), trouble in the locker room (basically him talking too much, and his general failure to take responsibility and learn from any of the trials he's undergone make it hard to picture the veteran talent in an NFL jersey this coming season.
So why do we keep talking about him?
But his knee?
TO is not the only player in the league to ever blow out a knee. It would probably be easier to count the guys without scars from knee surgery than those with. Some guys don't come back from their surgeries, but many of them do. Being the workout warrior that he is it would probably be safe money to bet on his knee being fine. The extra year off sure didn't hurt.
Man, that attitude...
That attitude is toxic. Part of it I'd like to blame on his agent not telling him to shut the heck up, but Owens got wise and fired that clown. Since he hired a new guy he's done better with not doing anything stupid publicly with the exception of the Wranglers fiasco.
Then again, maybe his new agent has taught him a few of the right things to say, but has yet to get him to follow through. Owens failed to show for a child support hearing. His lawyer took the bullet for him, but TO is 38; I think we all know where the responsibility lies.
Maybe when he gets out of jail for failing to pay his child (if it comes to that) support he'll finally have his act together.
If I were a gambling man I'd put my money on Big D. TO easily has the skill set to be a No 3 behind Miles Austin and Dez Bryant--heck he should be the No 1 in that group. Jerry Jones still digs him and if he can get Tony Romo to be cool with it I wouldn't be surprised. It's clear with the kissing up that TO does here that he sure wouldn't mind doing a two-step once again.
Let's be real here too folks. What is worse, having a jerk-off like TO on your team and winning or not having him as a distraction and losing? If your honest with yourself the answer is easy.
