Assassin’s Creed III Implores Us to Rise On July Fourth (VIDEO)
Happy Independence Day, Americans. In a clip that's bound to get you feeling rebellious, Assassin's Creed III drops the "Rise" Trailer for the upcoming stealth-action game set during the American Revolution. It's live-action, so don't expect any new clues or tidbits about the game's storyline, but, damn, if this one doesn't make me want to go guerrilla on some redcoats. Luckily, America is so smitten with the Royal Family, Adele and Simon Cowell television shows that we don't have to worry about this trailer inciting Yank-on-Brit (note to self: that should be a title to something awesome) crime.
We're still hoping AC3 will cause some gamers, of all ages, to pick up a history book and get some additional context to the time and environment they're hacking through with the main character. The forces that lead to the creation of America were extremely complicated and if a video game can be a gateway into that chapter of world history, then we may be on to something.
