Adrian Peterson Arrested in Houston

It must be tough being a professional football player. You train hard. You play hard. When you are done working, you want to party hard. Since most of America knows who you are, or at least of your exploits, they should just let you blow of steam in any way you see fit. Right?

Maybe that was what Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was thinking when he decided it was a good idea to wrestle a few cops in a Houston-area night club.

It is a common practice for nightclubs to hire off-duty police officers for security on the weekends. That was the case for the club that Peterson was at Friday night/Saturday morning. When it came time for the establishment to close the officers began to clear the place out. After an officer told Peterson and his party to leave once, he returned and prompted the party again.

Peterson responded by shoving the officer as he said that he heard him the first time. The cop responded by telling him he was under arrest. Had Peterson stopped there this would likely have not been a big deal. Instead he steps back and squares off like he wants to fight.

In the end it tool three officers to subdue and handcuff him. He was charged with resisting arrest.
