Shin Kicking is a Sport–Honest (VIDEO)
The world we live in is nuts. Most of us have probably said that at one time or another for any of a wide variety of reasons. For all intents and purposes each and every reason would be right too. However, if you're ever not sure about how crazy the world is take a look at some of the many things it calls 'sports.'
The British have a number of great ones, but one of the best has to be the World Shin Kicking Championships. The event is part of the Cotsiwold Olimpick Games in Gloucester, England. The sport itself can be traced back some 400 years as well.
The idea is pretty simple. The goal is not to see who can kick the other's shin's the most, but to throw them to the ground. No leg sweeps or any martial arts are allowed so opponents kick each others shins to draw the other off-balance.
If you like this sport, you probably get a kick out of these too.
There are also competitions for throwing almost anything: mobile phone (Finland), boot (Germany), tuna (Australia), haggis (Scotland), egg, custard pie, and black pudding (all three in England).
