Retro Studios Doesn’t Have Time For a New ‘Legend of Zelda’

E3 has come and gone and, while it had it's ups and downs, one of the main things gamers were hoping to see was a trailer or at very least sort sort of hint at a new Legend of Zelda title. Especially with the Wii U announced, you'd think Link would be one of the first guys in line to help sell their new system. It's been confirmed that there will be no trip to Hyrule for gamers when the Wii U launches but the Retro Studios say's they'll get to it...eventually.

Widely renown designer Shigeru Miyamotto told IGN that Retro Studios is too busy working on another unannounced game for Nintendo to even think about a new Legend of Zelda title.

'In terms of them working on a Zelda, it's not out of the question, certainly, for them to work on an entire Zelda game amongst themselves. Traditionally I think that the Zelda team has always had a close contact with anyone who's working on a Zelda game. If you were going to have that happen in the US at Retro, that would be kind of difficult for them to be able to coordinate. Certainly they're too busy for that sort of thing right now. It would probably require me to be involved to a great extent as well, so I would have to get over quite a bit too. I'd probably have to live in Texas… [laughs]' - Shigeru Miyamotto

All I can say regarding this is that they better be working on something pretty spectacular. Some are already making predictions that Nintendo's Wii U will be left behind once Sony and Microsoft reveal their new consoles.
