Nintendo Reveals a New Mario Title…With a ‘U’ at the End of It
Well Nintendo has held their press conference so, naturally, we've just received quite a bit of news on some great looking up-and-coming- titles that awaken the child in us all. One such title starred Nintendo's heavy hitting plumber, Mario.
New Super Mario Bros. U was one of a handful of Wii U titles announced today and is probably the one I'm most looking forward to. The footage released in the conference, which you can check out above, showcased a lot of gameplay of Mario doing what he does best. We've been introduced to the flying squirrel power up as well as a penguin that can, apparently, shoot bubbles if shaken (there's a powerful message for youth).
Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime also introduced the new concept of connecting with friends at any point during the game and leaving messages in the level select screen for all to see. There's a little more to it than that but I'd hate to make you read when you could be much lazier than that.
It's time to seriously consider picking up a Wii U when it launches because New Super Mario Bros. U is coming sometime in the holiday season of 2012!
