The match up could not be any better than it is. In the Miami Heat you have the collection of veteran talent that everyone expects to win. In the Oklahoma City Thunder you have a group of young, talented players that everyone expects to win eventually. As opponents they should make for an exciting end to the 2011-12 season.

Fans got the exciting game they were hoping for in Game One of the Finals Tuesday night.

Miami got out to a seven point lead after the first period, 29-22; that ended up being the difference at the end of the first half as well with both teams scoring 25 in the second to make the score 54-47. The second half ended up belonging to the Thunder. LeBron James and the Heat went cold as the Thunder put on a show for the home town fans outscoring Miami 58-40 to make the final score 105-94 in favor of the Thunder.

Kevin Durant lead the way for the Thunder scoring 17 of his 36 points in the fourth period. Russell Westbrook overcame a slow start to finish with 27 points and 11 assists. LeBron James had a solid night with 30 points and 9 rebounds, but only had one basket in the first eight minutes of the final period– when the team needed him most (hmmm…de ja vu anyone?).

The Thunder will see if they can take a 2-0 advantage in the series by remaining undefeated at home this post season when Game Two is played Thursday night starting at 9 PM ET.
