IO Interactive Apologizes for Hitman ‘Nun Shooting’ Trailer
One of the most talked about trailers as of late has undoubtedly been Hitman: Absolution's 'Saints' trailer. Why has it been such a big deal? Well, probably because it consists of Agent 47 killing a group of nuns in a beautiful CGI sequence.
There was definitely a wide array of mixed reactions from fans when the trailer debuted. I was thinking 'did you see her nose? It was all like SMASH!'. Others thought 'why are those nuns turning me on with their holy leather clad bodies?', but not all were amused by the killing of Gods women.
After a barrage of complaints from far and wide, IO Interactive has officially apologized to any and all the trailer may have offended stating 'We're sorry that we offended people – that was truly not the intention of the trailer.' While not exactly a heart-felt apology, it is just a game and it's hard to really apologize for a religious matter when most of the first person shooter genre has players either killing specific races or assassinating political figures. If you ask me, these are games and should be treated as such...meaning not real life.
Apparently, the trailer is based off a real level in the game so I'm sure we'll be hearing more when the game is released on November 20, 2012.
