Henry Hill Is Finally Whacked By Natural Causes Aged 69
Through Martin Scorsese's gangster epic, Goodfellas, Henry Hill became one of the most famous mafioso's of the 21st Century with his story going on to influence a plethora of other crime dramas including The Sopranos. But it seems like his time hiding from the mob has finally cut up with him as it has been announced that Hill died on the 11th June, just a day after his 69th birthday.
It isn't too much of a stretch to say that Hill is one of the most important cinematic figures of the 90s. Goodfellas is regarded as one of the greatest movies ever made and it is all down to Henry Hill and Nicholas Pileggi's account of mafia life in Wiseguy.
In his time in the mob Hill helped to rob Lufthansa in 1978, banking a cool $5 million in the process but his crime troubles eventually caught up with him on April 27th, 1980 when he was arrested for selling marijuana, cocaine, heroin and quaaludes.
Rather than face time in prison, Hill decided to rat on his former associates and it led to 50 of his friends getting convicted for a variety of crimes and he was placed into the Witness Protection Program for his troubles. However Hill was latter kicked out of this scheme because he continued to commit offenses before becoming a celebrity in his own right after the release of Goodfellas in 1991.
Hill was arrested on a number of occasions in recent years for public drunkenness as he continued to accentuate his bad boy image before he ultimately perished after battling sickness for several years.
His name will forever be associated with that of a rat, but he sure lived his life to the fullest.
