Dragon’s Dogma Ships Millionth Copy, Will Develop Into a ‘Major Franchise’
It was just a month ago that Dragon's Dogma was released to the masses after a mix of reviews split the gaming community down the middle. However, once the game was actually released, it was received very well. So well that it has, as Capcom revealed via their press release, shipped it's one millionth copy and has even broken a record in Japan for 'sales volume of an entirely new brand in its first week for releases during the past decade'.
In response to it's success, Capcom has also announced that they have plans to develop this entirely new brand into a major franchise. The success may have been somewhat surprising but not necessarily unexpected as Dragon's Dogma makes 55 titles that have reached one million sales for Capcom now.
While there were definitely certain aspects missing from Dragon's Dogma, the overall idea and execution of the game's mechanics were nice, refreshing ice cubes in our drinks. Now let's get some sequels going with some co-op features!
