Two games in the NBA playoffs last night and both were 16 point margins. The Thunder moved on to their second straight Western Conference Finals by dispatching the Lakers, while the Celtics handled business at home over the 76ers.
Boston 101 - Philadelphia 85
Boston inched closer to the Eastern Conference Finals with a game five win over Philadelphia last night to go up 3-2. Brandon Bass exploded in the third quarter for 18 of his game high 27 points. You're in trouble when someone outside of Boston's big three goes off like that. After giving up 50 points in the first half, Boston locked Philly down in the second and held them to 35 points. Rajon Rondo was a beast on the boards, grabbing 14 rebounds to go with his 13 assists. The Celts will try to close out the 76ers in Philadelphia tomorrow night.
Oklahoma City 106 - Los Angeles Lakers 90
The Thunder were not going to be denied in this game. Kobe Bryant did everything he could to carry the Lakers, scoring 42, but it wasn't going to be enough. Russell Westbrook made tough shot after tough shot, while Kevin Durant picked his spots to hit his usual big shots. The Lakers big men Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum looked too slow to help out, and Bynum only had four rebounds. OKC now has to get ready for San Antonio, who holds home court advantage. The first game between the Spurs and Thunder is set for Sunday.
Here's a little alley-oop from Westbrook to Durant.
